Frequently asked questions

From January 2026, medical consultations via OnlineDoctor will be billed via TARDOC. Basic insurance covers the costs of digital consultations via OnlineDoctor, depending on the insurance model and deductible.

Patients can submit the OnlineDoctor invoice to their health insurance company. In addition to the static item AA.10.0030 for the medical, time-delayed telemedicine consultation, the creation of a medical report (AA.25.0020) is also billed. This item can be billed on a per-minute basis per session (maximum 20 minutes). As a physician, you can therefore specify how many minutes you needed for the diagnosis and recommendation for action when processing a case. The costs for the service are calculated based on this.

Since the switch to TARDOC, there is now a dedicated position for delayed telemedical consultations (AA.10.0030). Full details of this position can be found in the service catalogue for outpatient medical fees at the following link: https://browser.tartools.ch/de/lkaat/data/L/AA.10.0030.

In addition, the preparation of a medical report (AA.25.0020) will be billed. This item is billed per session on a per-minute basis (maximum 20 minutes). Full details of this item can be found in the service catalogue of outpatient medical fees at the following link: https://browser.tartools.ch/de/lkaat/data/L/AA.25.0020

As medical reports are billed by the minute, there is no longer a static price per case with the switch to TARDOC.

Here are some sample calculations for you (based on a tax point value of 0.9). You can also see directly during case processing how much the patient will be billed for the case. Please note that OnlineDoctor will continue to retain CHF 25 per case from the amount invoiced. This means, for example, that for a case processing time of 15 minutes and a tax point value of 0.9, you will issue an invoice for CHF 67.39 and receive CHF 42.39 yourself. This is CHF 12.39 more than before.

5 minutes = CHF 32.83
10 minutes = CHF 50.11
12 minutes = CHF 57.02
15 minutes = CHF 67.39
20 minutes = CHF 84.67

No, OnlineDoctor handles the entire payment and billing process with patients. All you have to do is indicate how many minutes you spent on each case when processing it. You can view the resulting invoices for each case at any time in your Doctor Centre for your own documentation.

Consultation cases that you process via OnlineDoctor from a partner hospital will be handled and billed as usual according to the old standard.

The new TARDOC tariff system will come into effect on 1 January 2026. From this date onwards, delayed telemedicine services will be billable via this new tariff system and will, on average, be remunerated at a higher rate for you. As the service is covered by basic insurance, an active and correctly assigned ZSR number is essential. There are several options available to you:

You can send us the ZSR number of the practice where you work, together with confirmation from the practice owner in the form of a completed and signed document (we will be happy to provide this on request).

Alternatively, you can also provide us with the ZSR number of the practice and the practice’s bank details if the remuneration is to be paid into the practice account.

As a dermatologist, you are also free to apply for your own ZSR. We are happy to assist you with this and will cover the costs of registering the ZSR with SASIS. In this case, we do not require the ZSR number of the practice.

We are obliged to include the correct ZSR numbers on patient invoices. Otherwise, billing with health insurance companies cannot take place.

If you have any questions about your ZSR, you will find answers on the SASIS AG website.
